DESCRIPTION:FREEDANCE 027: Open Air @ Darebin Parklands \n\nFREEDANCE returns to the Open Air over the coming months\, embracing warmer weather\, revelling in daylight savings and activating public space with diverse music & movement. \n\nIn this first instalment of our Open Air series we are excited to announce very special live guests BROKEN SOUND GIRL and KALAMAYA !!!\n\nBroken Sound Girl is a Melbourne-based improvisational electronic sound artist exploring the intersection of experimental sound\, rhythm and public space.\nWorking with semi-modular and analogue synthesis\, she builds live\, evolving sets from abstract textures\, shifting rhythms and raw electronic movement. With no fixed compositions\, each performance responds to the energy of the space and unfolds differently in real time.\nRooted in public spatial activation and DIY performance\, Broken Sound Girl brings experimental electronic sound out into the open — creating immersive\, unpredictable spaces for listening and movement.\n\nKALAMAYA are a Melbourne-based experimental synth and drums duo creating fully improvised live sets.\nWorking with analogue synthesis\, live drums and hardware electronics\, the duo move between abstract textures\, shifting rhythms and spontaneous sonic interplay.\nWith no predetermined compositions\, each set is built entirely in the moment — an evolving dialogue between machines and drums.\nRaw\, unpredictable and rhythmically fluid\, KALAMAYA blur the boundaries between experimental sound\, improvisation and electronic music\, with each performance taking shape in response to the moment.\n\nAs usual Pauli Dancer will be leading the FREEDANCE with his eclectic mix of music with a playlist inspired by NOT KNOT JAZZ: "it's not jazz\, but it's not not jazz\; it's knot jazz but it's not knot jazz".
