SUMMARY:OK EG x Big Racket present: Workflows
LOCATION:Tender\, 535 Sydney Road\, Melbourne
DESCRIPTION:Fresh off the plane from an international tour\, OK EG invite you into their creative process for an intimate afternoon production workshop at Tender. The Naarm-based duo will explore the expansive sound worlds that define their work\, through intricate ambient textures\, syrupy synth lines and minimal hypnotic rhythms.\n\n\nMoving between relaxed conversation\, project walk-throughs and live demonstrations\, the afternoon will illuminate how OK EG translate studio ideas into immersive live performances. Expect a closer look at their hardware-based approach and performance methods\, with plenty of time for audience Q&A. The session will be lovingly amplified through Tender's beautiful Pitt & Giblin sound system\, tuned by Lauren and Matt themselves.\n\n\nFrom their early days producing with limited gear and developing a celebrated live show\, to running their own festival\, launching a record label and playing events the world over\, Lauren Squire and Matthew Wilson will unpack the workflows and philosophies that shape the OK EG sound\; an evolving practice that has seen releases across labels like Animalia\, Steeplejack\, Wax'o Paradiso\, Kalahari Oyster Cult\, Midgar and NAFF.\n\n\nThe afternoon will be facilitated by Big Racket (Ryan Powderly and Will Robertson)\, who continue their series of intimate artist-led workshops following recent sessions with Sleep D and DJ Haram. This is open to anyone with an interest in electronic music.\n\n\nComplimentary for First Nations available\, please reach out.\n\n\nFacilities and Accessibility at Tender:\n\nOur venue is accessed via a bluestone laneway with some uneven surfaces. The main entrance has five steps\, however a ramped front entrance is available for wheelchair access. If you would like to use the ramp\, please let us know when booking or on arrival and we'll be happy to assist if needed.\n\nUnfortunately\, we do not have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. We do have an ambulant toilet. Both serve as changerooms.\n\nWe have a shoes-off policy in our main space to help maintain the environment for all guests. We recognise that some people need to wear footwear for medical\, mobility\, sensory\, or other accessibility reasons. You're welcome to keep your shoes on if needed\, and we can provide disposable shoe covers to help keep the space clean. If there's anything else that would make your visit more accessible or comfortable\, please let us know\, we're happy to accommodate wherever we can.\n\nTickets: https://ra.co/events/2495537
